Feasibility studies involve shaping the design of a potential program and determining its probability of success. Program reviews determine whether an existing program is achieving its aims and how could it do better at doing so.
When reviewing programs, we clarify how a program fits in with the overall strategy and objectives for the organization to determine whether a changed or drifting strategy results in program objectives having become obsolete. From there the approach varies with the specific context but may include review of program’s approach to measurement (do measures align with objectives? Are they accurate? Are they timely?
Some of the other elements that maybe included:
- A review of practices and processes employed
- Scans of competitors or other jurisdictions
- Assessment of governance
- Structured contact with customers and internal and external stakeholders
